Job Title: Marketing AssistantDepartment: Marketing
Reports To: Director of Marketing
General Description Assists Director of Marketing and other team members with the following areas: internal communication; database management; asset procurement and delivery; project management; and social media and online reputation management. 


Essential Job Functions include the following, other activities may be assigned:
Responsible for support the marketing team in the tactical execution of day-to-day duties for marketing and social media initiatives to stay organized and keep internal department processes running smoothly. Is available to assist with whatever the priority is at any given moment.
Collects information and images for the weekly internal newsletter and presents draft for review each week.
Collection and organization of prepared reporting, competitive analysis, project briefs, etc. for the department.

Maintain marketing databases including media and news contact lists, social influencer contact lists, earned media coverage, and more.

Aids Director of Marketing in keeping project management tool updated and stays abreast of the status of projects and upcoming deadlines.

Responsible for assisting in the monitoring and maintenance of all social media channels for E.C. Barton & Company including responding to comments, mentions, reviews and queries in a timely manner.
Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of online customer review sites and  the responses or actions required in a timely manner.
Works with team to help with procurement of marketing assets, including images, video and copy.
May aid in planning community engagement efforts and community events as needed.
Must have previous experience in a professional office environment.
Basic understanding of marketing functions and/or willingness to learn.

Education and/or Experience
Associates or bachelor’s degree from a two or four-year college or university preferred; 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer and Technical Skills
Strong writing and editing skills required. Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Firm grasp of various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and to read and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
